PDS-128 Overview...
The PDS-128 is a player piano system that retrofits into
virtually any acoustic piano. The PDS-128 has a specification list that is unequaled in the industry. The PDS-128 has many exciting features including:

Record System (optional)
88 Note velocity sensory
using the PianoDisc TFT (Touch Film Technology). Entire keyboard
scanned every 1.4 milliseconds. Full MIDI velocity range output to
either PDS-128 for recording, or to external MIDI device (Synths,
Sequencers) through the MIDI Out port. Also available is the PianoMute (optional),
a mechanical silencer bar that when rotated into place (by the flick of
a small lever), will prevent the hammers from striking the strings on
the piano, yet allow MIDI data to be output. This is great for
practicing by yourself, or for controlling other synths without
generating any acoustic piano sounds that would interfere with the
music you are playing.
Control Unit
This sleek, compact control unit can play from a variety of sources, and be placed up to 100 feet away from the piano.
- Playback Media: 3.5" double density floppy diskette format.
- Display: Two lines (20 characters each) LCD with LED backlighting.
- Software: User upgradable with floppy disk. Program is automatically updated and saved in internal EPROM.
- Remote Control: Full featured playback and recording functions, including transpose, tempo, balance and volume.
- Record Function (optional): Can be used with the PDS-128 TFT Record System or other external MIDI devices.
- Playback Function: 127 volume levels, mute, balance.
- External Playback Mode: Pass Through Mode allows external MIDI devices (Keyboards, Sequencers, etc.) to play your piano.
- Diskette Mode:
- Tempo: can vary speed from 70% to 217% of original song tempo
- Transpose: +/- 24 semitones
- Producer: Create your own musical program selections (up to 20 songs).
- Shuffle: Randomizes song list.
- Repeat: Song or entire Disk. Can be used in conjunction with Shuffle.
- Split: Allows masking the playback of specific keys on the keyboard. Ideal for teaching and practicing.
- Accompaniment: Allows a person to play the piano with synthesized instruments (Symphony and Record options required). For instance, the piano and soft strings could be played together, which gives a rich full sound.
- Other Functions: Repeat song, song select, music search, split, song title entry and delete, reads multiple disk formats.
- Jacks and Rear Panel Controls: MIDI Ports (In, Out and
Thru), RCA Audio input and output, stereo 1/8" audio input, RS-232
serial interface port, 2 1/8" headphone jacks, 110/120 volt 60Hz AC
voltage (North America), 220/240 volt 50Hz AC voltage (non North
American).
